How to Be a Shopholic on a Budget

Nearly two-thirds of shoppers have NEVER paid full price for designer clothes, with holiday seasons coming up, and so much shopping still to do...I decided to share with you some of my own tricks to shop on a budget:) Please DO share if you have any additional ideas !!

  1. Sign-up for emails of our favorite stores. I know it may be annoying to receive weekly emails that you will probably send straight to trash. BUT, the stores will always send you emails with sales. BEST example would be signing up for Kate Spade New York mail. I am on its email list and at least four times a year I get emails inviting me to special surprise sales that are not open to the general public. SO number one rule SIGN-UP FOR EMAILS ;)
  2. Wait for the perfect oportunity. I know it can be hard  to buy something that you really want to have (trust me that comes from a shopaholic--at least that's what my sister says hahaha). All stores and online shops have promotions every month. Waiting for the right moment can save you some bucks and that makes ALL of us happy :) Again that's why it is important to sign up for email, the high street stores always are sending promotional codes. Wait for these promotion codes to buy this season's collection (that is what I usually do hahahha). The money saved can help you to buy a blouse or skirt later!
  3. Shop the basics! I know we want almost ALL the time this season's fashion, and it is usually not on sale! WHY?! Because people like me and you are impatient! So, when the urge to shop come, try to shop some basics and classics out of the sales rack or webpages. You are buying a lot good of pieces that you will be using everyday and for years.
  4. When you get to a store FOCUS and AIM to the clearence racks (they are usually in the back of the store! Trust me...I am used to do the walk to the back of the store hahahha!! That is a very used "trick" that sales people use!) The stores are usually going to put the new collections and the most expensive pieces in the front of the store so we see it and buy it at the spot. Start from the back of the store and make your way up to the front. At the time you get to the front probably you will already have found lots of cheaper items (Your friends VISA and MASTERCARD will take you for your wise choice)
  5. Student Discount. Many stores give student discount (it is usually 10%), if you are a student you should take advantage of it. Don't be afraid to ask for the discount!these little discounts in the end of the month can help you to buy that shoe that you really wanted.
  6. Shop at stores's clearence centers and outlets. There are Nordstrom Rack, Last Call by Neiman Marcus, and so many Outlets were you can find amazing design pieces for WAY less!!:) You can buy that perfect Paige or J Brand denim for half of the price :)
  7. LAST but not least...we all like to indulge ourselves sometimes:) SO how can we buy luxury items for less?! Good options of websites that I often use are TheOutnet.com (this is Net-A-Porter's outlet store has a range of brands including Alexander McQueen), MyTheresa.com (there is a good selection of nice designers, including ChloĆ© and so many others! You should check it out!), and HardlyEverWornIt.com (On this site you can buy or sell  nearly new designer items)!
